Disappearing Journal Project, 2005-2006

Like many artists, I am in the habit of keeping a visual journal, where I make a drawing a day. For one year, beginning in November 2005, I kept my journal on a special paper with brush and water. When water is applied to this paper it resembles ink, however unlike ink it begins to evaporate immediately and rapidly. After drawing my entry I photographed it as it disappeared. Sometimes I would take one photo, on other days, up to five images.
