Northrup King Building for "Art-A-Whirl," Spring 2017

Picture
Every year the Northeast Minneapolis Art Association holds their annual "Art-A-Whirl" gala open studio affair in the heart of the Northeast studio community. In 2017 my good friend, Teri Bloch, generously invited me to share her studio space. I had both my coloring books there, of course, as well as a few Scythes and Whispers. A good time was had by all!

Daughter Jill colored the image for the poster inviting people to the show!

Home Show, Spring 2017

Picture
In the spring of 2017 it was decided to hold an art show in our own house in North East Minneapolis. Furniture was moved and the way cleared for artwork on every wall in the living room and dining room. It was an unqualified success, with many friends and family coming to celebrate and purchase art!

We also launched the second Existential Coloring Book, which only arrived just in time for the show. It was called Who Lives Here?

In the living room were the Scythes and Whispers, in the dining room, the Coloring Books, and on the porch we had cards and individual coloring sheets.

Scythes and Whispers, Art Institutes International, Minnesota, Spring 2016

Picture

A one person show at the Art Institutes International, where I was a professor of Foundations Studies from 2002 - 20016. It featured my Geometric Paper Cutouts, which I called Scythes, along with the complementary etched walnut ink Whispers. The show was well attended with many friends and colleagues expressing appreciation.
